From a ghost town in a futuristic desert-sea, beasts emerge that transform the figurative and bring the narrative of metamorphosis closer to a dreamlike evanescence. Their references—offshore oil platforms—become settings where characters and structures are decontextualized to form possible societies, an exercise in photographic science fiction that opens the door to uncertain futures.

What is hidden, is revealed.
In Salvador Jacobo's visual universe, each image is a burrow. A threshold. Nothing stands still. Everything seems to blossom, fade, and transform at once. The masterstroke is not a final gesture or a definitive statement; it is rather the pulse of what trembles within. The works gathered in this exhibition operate as fertile ground where insects, eyes, ghosts, thorns, worms, shells, and shadows intertwine without hierarchy on a single pictorial plane. There is a living tension between the sacred and the obscene, the decorative and the disturbing. Here, where the absurd operates with the logic of the impossible, delirium materializes; illustration has swallowed a feverish vision.

“Apocryphal Works: Secret Works” by Cosmas and Damian Brown

Estudio Marte presents 'Obras Apocrífas: Obras Secretas' (Apocryphal Works: Secret Works), an exhibition by Cosmas and Damian Brown that brings together paintings, ceramics, drawings, and cards for the future, created at various times between 2023 and 2025, almost all in Mexico City.
Cosmas says that "these pieces, although all begun at different times and worked on completely separately, don't find their context until they are combined. Their meanings remained hidden from me for a long time, only revealed after prolonged contemplation." This is the first time they have left the studio and come to light. 'Apocryphal Works: Secret Works' is an exhibition of misfit pieces that, despite seemingly being reluctant, have insisted on being worked on. After lingering in the studio, it's time for them to come to light and be displayed.
COSMAS + DAMIAN BROWN
Cosmas And Damian Brown is a multidisciplinary artist based in Mexico City, who studied
art at the University of California, Los Angeles. Brown explores ideas of symbolism, mystery, and
alchemy in the context of contemporary life, contrasting industrial and natural elements, and
combining various representation techniques, both abstract and figurative. Despite addressing
subjects with direct references, Brown is more interested in exploring the secret language of images,
rejecting obvious interpretations and inviting alternative understandings to perception and
knowledge.
